SoulMates
Jewish Secrets to Meaningful Relationships
Marriage is the most powerful relationship there is. Not just because it's a human universal ideal, and not just because it's a foundation of the family unit or because of mutual attraction. But also because marriage is a union of two as-of-yet incomplete souls; marriage is a soulful bond—heart, mind, body, and soul united. In seven eye-opening sessions, SoulMates draws from biblical, Talmudic, halachic, Kabbalistic, and Chassidic sources to offer timeless insight and practical tools. Whether you're married, hoping to be, or simply curious, this course will transform your view of the most essential relationship in life.

If marriage seems outdated, why do so many still long for it? Despite growing skepticism, most people still desire—and cherish—marriage. Judaism views marriage as a sacred, soul-deep bond, rooted in the very creation of man and woman. By examining the two-part marriage ceremony and ancient wisdom, we’ll uncover why marriage matters and what it truly means to find your other half.

Is G-d comfortable in the bedroom? Judaism answers with a resounding yes. Far from being a barrier to holiness, sexual relations—when approached with soul, mind, heart, and body—is a sacred path to divine connection. Jewish wisdom elevates physical intimacy, viewing it not just as procreative, but as the deepest form of unity. With insights from both practical and mystical sources, we'll discover how to understand, deepen, and enhance intimacy, making it meaningful, fulfilling, and truly holy.

03/ Lesson
We start out starry-eyed, but is "passionate marriage" realistic in the long term? The mitzvah of taharat hamishpachah, or "family purity" offers a unique path to make it happen, revealing how it harmonizes commitment and desire, routine and renewal. Far from mysterious, these timeless laws infuse marriage with spiritual depth, emotional closeness, and divine connection.

What’s the key to a lasting, loving marriage? Judaism recognizes the often tricky terrain of gender differences, explores how understanding each other's unique needs can transform a relationship, and teaches us about one very powerful ingredient: deep respect. Through timeless Jewish wisdom, we’ll learn how respect—genuine and sustained—can heal friction, bridge differences, and strengthen the bond between husband and wife.

Marriage can refine us—but it can also test us. How we respond to conflict makes all the difference. Jewish wisdom prepares and helps us rise above reactive emotions—offering practical tools and meditations both for dissipating feelings of anger and resentment that fuel conflict—as well as for reorienting our perspectives to help prevent them in the first place. With clarity and compassion, this helps us turn the rough patches of our marriage into catalysts for becoming a better half.

06/ Lesson
Even in loving marriages, no one is entirely immune to temptation. So how do we protect what’s sacred? The Torah's ancient wisdom guides us in setting clear boundaries to guard marital faithfulness—while also strengthening the emotional and spiritual intimacy that makes those perimeters feel natural and secure. With wisdom from the Talmud and beyond, we learn how to preserve trust, loyalty, and lasting connection.

07/ Lesson
Sadly, "happily ever after" is not the case for many marriages today. Yet, while Judaism allows ample room for divorce, it also considers it to be a monumental tragedy; because we are “soul mates,” truly one with our spouse, and severing this union is akin to an amputation. The Torah’s view of divorce offers clarity: when it’s necessary, how it’s handled, and what it teaches us about the depth and value of marriage. Through this lens, we gain a deeper appreciation for shalom bayit—the sacred pursuit of peace, commitment, and harmony in the home.
